Turisthytte is the cosy tourist cabin located at Gaustatoppen. Here you can enjoy freshly baked waffles and a cup of coffee with a breathtaking view of large parts of southern Norway.
The cottage was built in stone from the top in 1893 and has since then attracted all kinds of mountain explorers. In addition to their well-known waffles, they also serve simple home cooked meals during the winter and summer season.
Last year, over 110,000 people visited the cottage. And they expect at least as many visitors to the idyllic summit this year. The season extends from February 9 to October. Did you know that they also celebrate May 17 at the top with a ski train from the county road?
