Hardangervidda
National Park Centre

Hardangervidda National Park Centre is at the gateway to Hardangervidda, one of the largest mountain plateaus in Europe and the largest national park in Scandinavia. Here you can enjoy an award-winning interactive exhibition about the nature and wild reindeer on Hardangervidda.

The centre is an exhibition centre with interactive exhibitions, aquariums, and a cinema. Visitors here can gain a good insight into the wildlife and nature on Hardangervidda. 

Hardangervidda National Park Centre opened in 1995 and since then it has been a place for people to come to experience Norwegian nature. Over three floors you can experience Hardangervidda’s wildlife, environment, and climate changes.

Award-winning exhibition

At the centre you can enjoy an award-winning interactive exhibition about the nature and wild reindeer on Hardangervidda. You can get to know the park here through information films, interactive screens, and three floors of history.

Film about Hardangervidda

There is also a cinema at the centre that shows four short films about Hardangervidda’s rich flora and fauna. The films are shown on five screens, creating a 225-degree panoramic experience. The lounge accommodates 168 people and the films will guide you through the high peaks and beautiful valleys of the national park.

Hardangervidda Panoramacafé

Hardangervidda National Park Centre has a café offering fantastic panoramic views of Lake Møsvatn. Here you can tuck into freshly baked waffles, sandwiches, and cakes during your trip to the national park. If you can’t get enough of the café, it’s also used for events for closed groups.
