The winter season at Gausta was short this year. Due to the coronavirus, all activities on the mountain were closed with immediate effect from 13 March. Since 1 June, Gausta and Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell with associated service facilities are open for the summer. Gaustabanen and Gaustatoppen Turisthytte also open during the month of June.
We follow the decisions and directives from Norwegian authorities regarding Covid-19. If Gausta and Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell are subject to lock-down, due to decisions by the government or municipality, or if the same authorities decide on an entry ban to Norway, we will offer a full refund for bookings during the time period.
The guarantee above includes all bookings made with Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell or gausta.com
We also offer to re-book your stay for a later date. Re-bookings are good for the same standard, the same length of stay and the same package deals as the original booking. Re-booking is offered as long as there is free capacity on the desired date.
Can I book a visit to Gausta this summer?
Yes, the booking for the summer season is open! We are preparing for extra safety routines in accordance with recommendations from the authorities, and will always put the safety of our guests and colleagues first.
Can I hike to Gaustatoppen this summer?
Yes, from what we know about the situation right now you will be able to visit Gaustatoppen this summer. The hotel and other facilities will be open from June 1. If you want to take the Gaustabanen train to the top you can do this from June 26. Gaustatoppen Turisthytte will open from the end of June, so you will even be able to enjoy a good waffle on the top! (However, outdoor dining only.)
