Gausta for children

At Gausta Skisenter there are slopes and challenges that fit every age and ski level. Apart from pists graded green (very easy) to black (expert) there are three areas designed for children, two snow parks and ski schools. Not forgetting the Gausta king, of course!

Ski slopes for every age and skill

At Gausta Skisenter there are prepared slopes that fit skiers of all ages and skill. At Gaustablikk every member of the family can choose its favourite slope and still meet at the same lift for another ride. The ski area at Bygget in Hovdestaul, closer to Gaustatoppen, offers slightly flatter slopes – mostly graded green and blue, with great views of Gaustatoppen.

Older children and youths with more skiing experience will find good opportunities for easy off-piste and varied forest skiing.

Free lift passes and ski rentals for all children age 0-7

At the ski rental at Gaustablikk and Hovdestaul all children up to 7 years old can borrow ski equipment and helmet free of charge. The lift pass is free too (0-7 years), although a keycard must be bought separately.

Children areas

At the big children area at Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell great fun can be had in a protected area.

Here you find an easy slope for beginners with a button lift and a conveyor belt lift for those just getting started. It’s important to let both lift riding and skiing be a fun game, and to let everybody feel confident and capable, don’t you think?

At Gausta Skisenter you can find two snow parks featuring jumps, rails and boxes.

Here you’ll find fun challenges for both beginners and experienced action-riders. The snow park at Gaustablikk is all new for the 2019 season – don’t miss it!

Ski school

Is it time for the youngsters to try skiing for the first time? Or maybe take their skills to the next level?

At the Gausta Skisenter ski school skiers at every age can refine their skills with our experienced teachers. Choose between group lessons in class or private tuition with your own instructor. Prepare for lots of laughs and good times!
