Now gausta.com opens up for bookings of accommodation and ski passes. The launch is the first step in simplifying and digitalising booking and sales at Gausta.

Having a good booking site is becoming ever more important in the travel industry. Already in 2018, 82 percent of all trips were booked via a website or phone app, and this figure is expected to rise in the years to come. The proportion of trips booked online via a smartphone is increasing the most. At the same time, more and more guests want to compare options and book their entire trip in a single place. These are some of the insights that have been taken into account in developing a new booking platform for Gausta.
– In the past it’s been difficult for first-time guests to Gausta to get an overview of all the bookable products, says Hans Langenius, marketing director at Gausta. What’s more, all the bookable products have been in different systems, so guests had to go to one website to book accommodation and then another to book ski passes. By bringing everything together on one site we can create a better experience for the customers.
In mid-September, the new booking system was launched to the public. It is now possible to buy both ski passes and accommodation at gausta.com. Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell and Kvitåvatn Fjellhytter are the first to offer accommodation on the new platform.
– It’s great to be able to offer guests an easier way to book a stay at Gausta, says Anette Sveinsson, CEO at Gaustablikk Høyfjellshotell. The new booking platform gives us better opportunities to sell packages that include both accommodation and ski passes. Now we hope that more companies and cabin owners in the area will follow suit. The more who take part, the smoother booking experience we can offer our guests and customers.
The launch in September is only the first step in a major digitalisation journey. The goal is for guests to be able to book their entire stay online, from accommodation and ski passes to ski school, ski equipment, activities, treatments and food.

The gausta.com website was launched in autumn 2018 following the merger of Gaustablikk Skisenter and Gaustatoppen Skisenter. The goal is to spread the Gausta brand in Norway and abroad and strengthen the Gausta destination and all its providers. Earlier this September, a new booking system was launched so that guests can book accommodation and ski passes on the same platform. More products and services will be added on an ongoing basis, including ski school and ski equipment that are expected to be bookable online for the winter season 2020/2021.
