For the 2024/2025 winter season, we need to strengthen our team in the ski patrol at Gausta Ski Center. We are now looking for a responsible and reliable individual with good skiing skills, who is eager to assist ski guests who are injured at the resort. As part of the ski patrol at Gausta Ski Center, you will be our foremost ambassador for ensuring the safety of our ski guests.

As a ski patrol team member, you are an essential part of the safety efforts at Gausta Ski Center. You will be working in a large ski resort with 35 slopes, 13 lifts, a children's area, and a terrain park. Safety is our top priority, but with up to 3,000 ski guests visiting in a single day, various types of accidents can occur. As part of the ski patrol, you will encounter many situations that require you to stay calm, work methodically, and take responsibility for the injured, their relatives, and other affected parties. You will be a crucial and highly visible ambassador for safety at Gausta Ski Center and the destination as a whole.

About the position:

  • Provide first aid and assist injured guests in the ski resort during Gausta Ski Center's opening hours.
  • Maintain calm and work methodically in the event of an accident.
  • Show care, understanding, and quickly build trust with the injured, their relatives, and other affected parties.
  • Be a responsible, reliable, and visible presence in the ski resort.
  • Communicate well with ski guests and offer help when needed.
  • Have strong and consistent skiing skills in all types of snow and weather conditions.
  • Work as part of a team, either on skis or from a snowmobile.
  • Stay updated on the latest weather conditions, resort activities, and be able to find information if you don’t have it, to provide guests with accurate information.
  • Be the face of Gausta and a good ambassador for the destination.

About you: You naturally take care of guests who are injured or in need of help at the resort. You are a thorough and responsible person who remains calm and quickly gains an overview of the situation. The role requires excellent communication skills, a strong service attitude, and the ability to quickly build trust.

You are an experienced and skilled skier who can provide first aid on the slopes and safely transport the injured. Previous first aid training is a plus but not a requirement, as training will be provided on-site.

Desired qualifications:

  • Accurate and professional in your duties. Safety always comes first.
  • You speak a Scandinavian language and have good communication skills in English.
  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • It is an advantage if you have taken a first aid course or have prior experience in first aid, but it is not a requirement.
  • It is an advantage if you have a driver’s license for classes B and S (snowmobile), but it is not a requirement.
  • You are a team player who enjoys being part of a dedicated and passionate team with skilled colleagues.

We offer: We at Gausta are in an exciting phase with great development potential. With us, you can expect an inspiring and varied job with friendly colleagues, a competitive salary, and the possibility of room and board at the destination.

  • An important position at a destination experiencing strong growth and development.
  • A fantastic work environment with passionate and skilled colleagues.
  • A unique mountain setting with a ski center, world-class off-piste skiing, miles of cross-country trails, and proximity to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Rjukan. It’s also just a 2.5-hour drive from Oslo.
  • Salary according to agreement and qualifications.
  • Attractive employee benefits with discounts and access to facilities at the destination, including a staff gym.
