There are indeed many ski destinations in Norway, but none that is more mountain than Gausta. Here you find more of almost anything. Thanks to it’s high altitude above the deep, dramatic Vestfjorddalen Gausta is one of Norway’s most snow-sure destinations. And with the view of Gaustatoppen, every run becomes a slightly bigger experience.
At Gausta the winter and ski season normally lasts till May. No matter if you prefer alpine skiing on or off piste, to beat the clock racing the cross-country tracks or to go touring and tracking yourself to experience the stillness and peace – you can count on Gausta to offer true winter adventure.
And if that isn’t enough, there is more. Rjukan and Vestfjorddalen (Vestfjord valley) is well known among climbers around the world for it’s magificient and challenging ice climbing. Thanks to its approximately 200 frozen waterfalls, Rjukan is quite “the Chamonix of the North”. Easier and more familyfriendly challenges can be explored on the Gaustablikk skating ice. Bring your own skates or rent them in the Gausta showroom.
