At Gausta fun and adventure awaits for all children, no matter what age and no matter what time you arrive.
In the winter Gausta skisenter offers varied skiing for skiers at every level. You will find many gentle “green” slopes for inexperienced skiers and special children areas for playful learning. Because it means a lot to feel that you “can do”, both skiing and catching the lift yourself.
Older children and teenagers will find a whole ski system to explore, and several fun-parks with jumps and obstacles to master.
In the summertime Gausta offers the best possible introduction to hiking for children. Where else can you climb a mountain peak, 1883 m above sea level, to catch a view overlooking 1/6th of Norway – all after just a two hour walk. The idea of an Instagram-selfie on the peak of Gaustatoppen can be a pretty good motivator for young feet.
Yet there is more, of course. At Gausta families with children can enjoy fishing, canoe paddling, riding and of course mini-golf at Gaustablikk. In Rjukan and Vestfjorddalen 700 m below, you will find a smorgasbord of activities. Not the least, the museums and indoor water park offer shelter and activities on days with less generous weather.
